Ashburton Link Pty Ltd (ABN: 86 670 073 462). and its associated entities in Australia (“Ashburton Link” or “the Company”) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information entrusted to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information in accordance with the laws of Western Australia, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This privacy policy outlines how Ashburton Link handles personal information in Western Australia. It is important for individuals to review and understand this policy.

Ashburton Link collects personal Information in carrying on business, including personal information from: 

  1. prospective employees or prospective contractors, such as personal contact details, references, Tax File Numbers, health related information, medical and hearing tests, drug and alcohol testing.
  2. existing employees, directors or staff of companies with whom we contract with or with whom we are engaged in joint ventures or joint operations;
  3. shareholders, such as names, address and shareholding.

Ashburton Link will generally collect personal information directly from you. However, collection of information from third parties may be required. You have no obligation to provide us with any information we request. However, if you withhold information, as an applicant for employment, we may not be able to employ you.

3. Use and disclosure of information

We may use personal information received about you as an applicant for an employment or contractual role to determine your suitability for such role and generally for our business operations. 

For the purpose of maintaining safe and efficient business operations, we may;

  1. collect personal information from a joint venture partner or company that we contract with; or
  2. disclose personal information to a joint venture partner or company that we contract with;

Ashburton Link may also disclose personal information about you to other parties in the course of business, including;

  1. service providers; such as Government agencies and regulatory bodies as required by law, employment agents, medical and health service providers or testing services, training service providers or legal advisors;
  2. information technology service providers; such as providers that host cloud based storage of our data; and
  3. medical service providers for urgent treatment where consent cannot be obtained from you.
  4. in connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, or purchase of assets.

Ashburton Link may disclose personal information outside Australia, such as for employment, project or through the storage of electronic files abroad. By providing your personal information, you agree that Ashburton Link will do its best to take steps to ensure that the overseas recipient does not breach the APPs, and Ashburton Link will not breach its obligations under the Privacy Act or APPs.

If you do not want Ashburton Link to disclose your personal information overseas, you may withdraw your consent by advising our Privacy Officer in writing.

4. Storage and security

We may collect, disclose and store information received from you in electronic or hard copy form. Ashburton Link will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that; 

  1. it does so securely;
  2. access to personal information is limited to Ashburton Link staff or third parties who reasonably require it; and
  3. When the information is no longer required, we will destroy it or de-identify it to make it anonymous.

5. Accessing and changing your personal information

You may request access to personal information we hold about you. Access will be provided within a reasonable time. 

Ashburton Link takes reasonable steps to ensure that personal information it stores is accurate. If it is not, or you do not wish us to keep it, you can ask us to correct or delete it. Unless personal information is required for administrative or legal reasons, we will take all reasonable steps to meet such requests.

If you have a concern about MIR’s collection, use, storage or disclosure of your personal information please contact our Office Manager who will investigate and advise you of the outcome as soon as possible.

7. Amendments to this Privacy Policy

Ashburton Link may amend or update this privacy policy from time to time at its discretion.
